In a series of intense analog portraits we see children from the suburbs of Kyiv, often appearing inside undefined interiors and illuminated by flash. Although initially unpolitical, these portraits speak subtly of the context they were created in — a European country that has been torn by conflict for years. In light of current escalations, we realize the unimaginable power such images can hold. Gorsad’s is a creative force, which aims at destroying the moral taboos of the present through their straightforward explorations of the youth of their city. This is where, as of today, the 24th of March, one month after the start of the war, Gorsad like so many others have decided to stay.
