"Numbers are the essence of all things, and the constitution of the whole universe in its determinations is a harmonious system of numbers and their relations." Aristotle

Does a single system underlie everything that happens in the universe? If harmony exists independently of our consciousness and is expressed in the structure of everything that exists, it can be represented by maths. Since antiquity, thinkers have put forward the idea that nature is based on mathematical foundations — from the search for numerical harmony in music and planet movement, to scientific discoveries in physics and mathematics.

In his work, Dmitrii Vasilev [1994, St. Petersburg] reflects on numerical harmony and the order of the world around us, on the external manifestation of internal ordering. He graduated from the academy of documentary and art photography Fotografika in 2019 and he is a master of science in engineering. Dmitrii is interested in themes of boundaries, nature and natural philosophy. His works have been exhibited in Russia and Europe. He currently lives and works in St.Petersburg.
