PUK! Bulgarian Photobook Platform Goes Online

by Maya Hristova

PUK! is an independent photobook platform founded in 2017 by Nikola Mihov, Tihomir Stoyanov and Rossen Kuzmanov. PUK! organises book presentations, artist talks and pop-up exhibitions. Previously PUK! has invited leading names in the international photography scene such as Vanessa Winship, George Giorgiou, Jean-Marie Donat and Trisha Ziff, as well as Bulgarian artists like Hristina Tasheva and Atanasov.

In PUK!’s online bookstore, you can find a selection of photobooks by Bulgarian and Bulgarian authors such as Vesselina Nikolaeva, Eugenia Maximova, and Pepa Hristova, rare and handbound books by Martin Atanasov, Hristina Tasheva and Blood Becomes Water, as well as books by two of PUK! founders – Nikola Mihov and Tihomir Stoyanov. All books are presented in both English and Bulgarian. You can also find detailed information about sold-out books, part of PUK!’s collection.

The PUK! collection includes photobooks, zines, catalogues and photography magazines. The aim of the platform is to popularise photobooks in Bulgaria and to present the Bulgarian photobook scene abroad. PUK! collaborates with organisations and galleries such as delpire & co, Sofia Film Fest, the Institut Français, Synthesis Gallery, KO-OP, One Book Bookstore and Structura Gallery.
